Unique Multicultural Event 'Global Village'  was held at KIIT The 3rd edition of Global Village Programme has been held at KIMS Auditorium in Bhubaneswar on 19th August 2017. Participants from 13 countries have showcased the culture of their respective countries under the theme 'UNITE'. The programme was hosted by AIESEC (the world's biggest youth run organization), Bhubaneswar Team(KIIT), which is working in alignment with 17 Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) of United Nations. 71st Independence day celebrated at KIIT and KISS
71st Independence Day was celebrated in Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) and KIIT University with great vigor and verve. Dr. B.N. Nanda, Senior Economic Adviser, Government of India, attended the celebration as chief guest and hoisted the National Flag. He also took the salute at the parade of the students. Among others, Saswati Bal, President, KIIT & KISS, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, R. N. Dash, Secretary, KIIT & KISS, Prashant Routray, CEO, KISS were also present. After flag hoisting, march-past was performed by the students of KISS. The students also performed colourful cultural programmes. Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS delivered a special talk on “Promotion of humanitarianism and peace by arresting violence” on May 29, 2017 at the American University of Armenia in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia. A keynote speaker at the event, he was given a generous time slot of one and a half hours to share the best practices at Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) with the esteemed audience consisting of Nobel laureates, leading experts from across the international humanitarian community, business, philanthropy, student leaders and media in Armenia. He is the first Indian to have been invited to speak at this important event.

Topic of his address was: 'Social Innovation : KISS as a Role Model'. The address was attended by Shri K. International Day of Yoga was celebrated with enthusiasm in KIIT and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) at KIIT Cricket Stadium on June 21, 2017.
