Prime Minister Narendera Modi has congratulated Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) University on attaining university status.
In a letter to the authorities of KISS, the Prime Minster said that KISS is bringing thousands of tribals into the mainstream of the society by giving them free education. Modi also pointed out the selfless work of social reformer Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, saying that Baba Ambedkar always gave importance on the transformation of the lives of dalits, tribals and backward people in the society. The Prime Minster also opined that all should strive hard for the development of the tribals for which the Union government has started the Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana. Through this scheme, the government gives importance for the development of education, health and employment of the tribals.
Dr. Achyuta Samanta, founder of KISS and KIIT, thanked the PM for his congratulatory letter. Earlier in August, KISS received the University status for imparting holistic quality
