South Korea’s Chosun University has conferred Honorary Degree of D.Litt. on Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS. The University conferred the honour on Dr. Samanta at its 68th Foundation Day Function on September 25, 2014 for his remarkable contribution in the field of education and social service. Till date Dr. Samanta has got 17 Honorary Doctorate Degrees from various Universities of India and abroad.

During his four-day tour to South Korea, leading a high-level KIIT delegation, KIIT University has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with six Korean Universities; namely, Dong-Guk University, Young-in University, Kangnam University, Inje University, Busan Foreign University and Hongbupsa. The MoUs will facilitate educational and cultural exchange and lead to better mutual understanding of culture, tradition and educational system among people of South Korea and Odisha.

A grand public felicitation was given to Dr. Samanta in Chosun University. He also inaugurated a KIIT Centre at Jungwon University and a KIIT corporate office at Seoul. Earlier in the year, a Indo-Korean Education and Cultural Centre was opened by Dr. S. C. Jamir, His Excellency the Governor of Odisha at Jungwon University. Various cultural and student exchange programmes are taken up through this centre.
